A Little Mad Films Is crazy, maybe just a little mad.
more about A LITTLE MAD THE MESSENGER will be the third significant film production from Pasquale Anthony Leonardo (aka Tony) and Shachar Langlev. The last one was a 22-minute sitcom pilot called The Williamsburgers and in 2005 we made the short film John & June which screened at festivals across the country. In 2004 the short film Rollin’ Down Flatbush, opened the “20,000 Leagues Under The Industry” film festival in Cleveland, Ohio. In 2006 we won a contest to shoot a music video for Island Def Jam Records, MTVu and the band Damone. We shot, produced and directed the 16mm, $25,000 music video “Out Here All Night”, based on the movie Evil Dead. This video was nominated for "Best Music Video Inspired By A Film" on Fuse in 2006. Besides writing, directing and shooting, we have worked on many TV shows (Room Raiders, Blind Date, Extra, etc), short film productions (many from Columbia, NYU and Brooklyn College), music videos (EPMD, others), indie features, commercials and ENG shoots in New York.
Shachar's last short film with his fiancée Nitzan Mager, Period Portrait, won the 2008 Brooklyn College Film Festival, screened at IFP 2008 in New York and has toured the country. Tony has been a journalist for such publications as the New York Press, Forbes Traveler and is the author of two books on ultimate frisbee: Ultimate: the First Four Decades and Ultimate: The Greatest Sport Ever Invented By Man. The former is sold out and the latter is currently available at bookstores and online. Tony and Shachar met in 2001 while attending the Film Department at Brooklyn College. As for cycling, Tony was a bike messenger back in the 1990s and still rides as often as he can. His goal is to crack the top ten of an alleycat race. His top finish is 13th.
